Introducing Midas Green, our eco-friendly range of hand protection.
WHY SHOULD YOU CONSIDER MIDAS GREEN GLOVES?
Consumers are becoming more environmentally conscious and are demanding products which cause less or zero harm to the environment. At Midas Safety we are committed to making safety sustainable, and are proud to introduce the eco-friendly Midas Green range as a first step in meeting this demand. These eco-friendly gloves offer the same comfort, dexterity, breathability and durability you have come to expect of Midas Safety hand protection.
THE TRUE VALUE OF THE MIDAS GREEN RANGE.
The true benefit in the Midas Green glove range is in the selection of recycled polyester yarn. The yarn is derived from a 5-step process which converts plastic bottles (PET) to the base materials used to produce high-quality hand protection. In addition, the production process employs significantly less water and energy consumption along with reduced carbon footprint and plastic waste.

FROM MATERIAL WASTE TO WEARABLES
At Midas Safety we embrace the circular economy to help save the environment and promote resource efficiency through reuse, recycle, repair and re-manufacture, thus keeping the functional value of a material.
We also focus on reducing material use through efficient process controls and supply chain activities as well as concentrating on enhancing recycled materials in our processes and products.
PLASTIC
Unlike polyester, recycled polyester uses Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) as the raw material. This is the same material used in clear plastic water bottles, and recycling them to create the fabric prevents waste from going to landfills and oceans. • Less soil contamination, air and water pollution • 33-53% less energy consumption; reduces dependence on fossil fuels.
COTTON
We use pre-consumer cotton that utilizes cotton scraps left over from manufacturing, re-purposing into something useful.
• Minimizes landfill waste • Significantly reduces use of natural resources and reduces pollution from the pesticides used in agriculture • The amount of energy and dye used is reduced by using a product that has already been processed
PARA ARAMID
Midas Safety uses post-consumer and post-industrial residues to manufacture aramid fibers, re-purposing waste into something useful.
• Minimizes landfill waste • Minimizes impact on the environment – generates less waste and emissions • As a result of the processing the product has already been subjected to, the amount of energy is reduced
SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION OF TENCEL™ LYOCELL FIBERS
TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers have gained a reputation for their environmentally responsible closed loop production process, which transforms wood pulp into cellulosic fibers with high resource efficiency and low ecological impact. This solvent-spinning process recycles processed water and reuses the solvent at a recovery rate of more than 99%.
Packaging and packaging material is a key area of focus for Midas Safety as we aim to reduce waste and the CO2 footprint.
Our Commitment to a Sustainable Planet
Our sustainable packaging initiatives are focused on weight reduction and ecological sourcing, based on the 5 Rs principle. We have initiated a number of measures which will be helpful in reducing our product carbon footprint and also contribute towards reducing waste.
